Spin problem?

is it just me or does Gangully have a problem playing spin??
I see Brad hogg has now removed him 4 times in this series, and also his record indicates he is not too good with spin...
Is he a player who feels uncomfortable playing spin? Or is it brad Hogg is just too good for him??
Thanks on your comments guys..

Well Hogg has justified his selection already, & yes Ange, I think you're right about Ganguly.

Well,

You look like a cricket expert, so I don't know the authenticity of my answer.

However, I feel that Ganguly has a problem playing the spinners in test. He is kind of an attacking batsmen of spin. He hasn't developed the technique of settling or batting out the spinners as many other batsmen do.

In one dayers, where settling down is not a big issue and you have to hit cause of less time, he comes out to be good against the spinners. His performances against spinners like Murali are evidence of that.

Also, I think Hogg is being underestimated here, because if Ganguly seriously had a problem for spinners he wouldn't have been a class batsmen.

Hope this explains a bit.

hit it on the head Ange, he isn't the player he once was, hogg has his measure, same as Ricky battles with harbi, a lot of it is mental with these world class sports people, its all about the mental edge etc, its proven time and time again.

just quietly, he didn't want to walk hey, once given out. they have had 4 lbw's go their way today and no doubt will whinge about gangullys, hawk eye showed it was hitting the top of middle and off, but i think it would of stayed low, Christ it hit him on the shin, you cant play across the line and think you're not going to be given out all day.

edit, monika- replays showed there were no edges what telecast are you watching. the ball did have 2 mts but it wasn't turning, why is this hard to understand for you.

Actually most Indians are comfortable against spin.Only Yuvraj has a weakness against spin or rather plays pace better than spin.

But Indians do get out to spin trying to force the pace after getting cramped by pace.Ganguly finds well directed rising deliveries difficult to negotiate.

Saurav is known for hitiing spinners out of the park sweetie. He is playing too many shots, perhaps that's why Hoggy is getting some wickets

i dont know about a spin problem Ang

but he has a hog problem in he batted with determination to get the hogy

instead of playing for his team and that alone was his undoing

in test cricket personal goal must be put aside

a hard lesson this time around

Well I am not sure about previous dismissals but certainly he was wrongly given LBW this time around when ball was to travel more then 2 mtrs and there was slight edge also.
