Its just pure give and take transaction.
IPL needs Sri Lankan players-
-To bring crowds and spectators from Sri Lanka.
-To bring diversity in the tournament.
-To add more batting, bowling & captaincy skills in the bouquet.
Sri Lankan players need IPL-
-To generate money (most important)
-To take exposure and to learn a lot to play pressure games.
-To earn repo as its great platform.
The need from both sides are nearly equal in weight but if you think deeply Sri Lankan players needs are heavier. I'm not saying this just because I'm an Indian but logically that is correct mate.
Assume you are a Sri Lankan player:-
You know mate that Sri Lankan players aren't getting paid by SLCB appropriately, The cricketers having no talent are earning heavily and how would you feel if you are not able to make some easy $$$. Had Sri Lankan cricketers were rich and well resourced, then they could afford to avoid IPL but on given current conditions- No.
Assume you're IPL chief:-
Yes, it would a worry for IPL chief if Sri Lankan player fails to make in but there are huge numbers of alternatives available. Evey team consists lots of players and captaincy can be transferred to someone else. Truly speaking, so far, Sri lankan captain have failed to play as per their talent mate be it Sanga or Mahela. Except Malinga, nobody has capitalized the talent in the six versions of the IPL. Sri Lanka doesnt have huge population so I dont think it will be huge loss spectator-wise if Sri lankan players don't play. But Still IPL would suffer a lot if there are no Sri Lankan players.

IPL = Indian players + Aussie players + West Indies players + Sri Lankan players + Commentators and experts from all world + Spectators from world + Club Owners' money + Sponsors and Advertisers + Cheerleaders (:
So obviously IPL - Sri Lankan players > Sri Lankan players

I think we don't need to imagine what would happen if there are no Sri Lankan players. You can take example of Pakistan players. There is no Pakistani players in the IPL who are known for their great T20 skills be it Afridi, Umar Gul, Ajmal, Hafeez etc. Today Pakistani players are unable to play IPL (for whatever reasons), you can see easily that who are on more loss- IPL or Pak players?

But overall its just pure give and take transaction. Neither IPL nor SL players are doing favor on each other, primarily both have monetary objectives but if you thing deeply a whole tournament is larger than any brigade of foreign players be it West Indies players or Aussie players or Sri Lankan players. We love & Respect Sri Lankan players and Sri Lankans also love IPL. Conflicts are temporary.
I've tried to be logical. Correct me, if I'm wrong, mate
I know why you asked this question and it was completely justified and fair enough.
