He wasn't the one who scored us the runs was he?? We need him to retire. He has had his run. Time for him to give it up mate.

Ponting laying claim to Australia's win by telling Johnson where to place the ball, what a joke?

Now Lillee taking credit.

Lets hope Ponting drops down the batting order at least, lucky the tip of his finger won't stop him playing Boxing day otherwise we would have to put up with Clarke and that would be a lot worse.

The selectors tell us theres no one to replace Ponting, well they could do a lot worse than Hussey as a stop gap for now!

Can't keep telling Ponting he's safe for 3 years or so, never get anything out of him.

Batting positions three and four have been diabolical. Before Katich was injured both openers had made runs and the selectors should stick with Hughes, at least for the next test preferably to the end of the series. Smith only got 36 but did put on a partnership worth 75 with Hussey. So he does deserve to stay.

He has had form problems but because of his class and pedigree as a match winner there should be no problem in him finding form for the next test. Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke if they can rediscover there form because you don't just lose it overnight for it to never return. Clarke was making inroads into his batting slump before a bad shot got him out but with the likes of Shane Watson and Mike Hussey showing the way and a win in the third test that has renewed confidence and will certainly turn things there way in regards to instilling confidence. According to Geoffrey Boycott England has problems playing on fast tracks with a bit of bounce, so maybe they should look a little closer at there problems before trying to expose Australia's.

Ponting is right. Australia have no problems with their top order. They can't be, as the captain is averaging 16, and everyone else is better than him. And, as Ponting knows he is the best batsman in Australia, then it is obvious that, with the others currently outscoring him, or at least keeping pace, there can be no problems.

Elementary, my dear.

Its middle order which has been struggling for the past 12 months.Watson and Katich has done decent job as openers and hussey at no 6. Hussey is a top run getter this year in test cricket for Australia.

Cricket is now his second and lowest income, you can't bag other batsmen when you,, yourself can't hit the ball off the square.

I hope he does play in the last test, scores a ton and walks away from the game.

But god help us if these idiots at the ACB think that PUP is the answer.

Why should he be concerned? He knows he has a Hussey that is averaging like Bradman at the moment. I think he and Michael Clarke are living in fantasy world at the moment.
