Will the test matches be better with the captains stopping their honesty policy with the catches?
I think it will be a hell of a lot better..
Not saying there ar'nt honest catchers out there but is that not why the umpires are out there??

this is a few comments the skippers made::::

Indian captain Anil Kumble denies his preference to scrap a pact with Australia on contentious catches will put more pressure on umpires in the third cricket Test at the WACA Ground, which begins on Wednesday.

Kumble and rival skipper Ricky Ponting abandoned the pre-series agreement for players to accept a fielder's word over line-ball catches after the second Test in Sydney.

The policy was scrapped during Monday night's peace talks with International Cricket Council mediator Ranjan Madugalle, where Ponting and Kumble also agreed both sides would play with renewed respect for each other.
OH Well i hope MR BIlly and MR Asad are on thei toes for this one...Good luck to both teams...

Finally a cricket question :)

The umpires will obviously be under major pressure from everyone to make no mistakes, BUT Bowden and Rauf are competent enough umpires to not do that

I reckon the players will be much quieter TBH, less confrontation between the players

Remember this prediction

Australia to win by 125 runs

Dravid to hit 100

Why do teams have to respect each other on the field when they are both out there to do one thing.... Beat the other team... Off the field yeah different story...

But anyways with the catching scenario, yes it will be better (stuffs me why they had the 'trust the fielder' anyways).. Umpires are there to do a job, if in doubt use the technology thats available... If there is still any doubt then it must go to the batter

I just heard that Dennis Lillee has predicted that Shaun Tait could express upto 170k's if given the right conditions in this test.... Crikey Dennis thats quick!!...

Go the Aussies good luck boys :)

In the best interest of both the teams and umpires, it was a

well directed approach to drop the pact.

It will be tough on the umpires no doubt about it and given the

nature of this pitch, Indians will have tough time batting. If they

can click with their batting, then we have a game....if not

game over in 3 days.

Looks to me this is referee's match than players? LOL....

I think the commentators are part of the other problem, and

let us hope they will keep their wide mouth shut before

aggravating the problems. They should make appropriate

comments only after the decision is made by the umpire.

Old Billy didn't have a great game last time out , so hope the eyes of the world upon him today will alter that. I never did like the 'fielder's' word business. With all the technology we have now, why leave anything to chance.? All the best to both teams anyway.

The cancellation of the earlier agreement will help to reduce the controversies
