17-18 average in recent cricket days is a gr8 acheivment by Bond. Hes the best bowler of todays odi cricket.. and he delivered his best since his debut. and what could i say about ponting .. only this that hes now on the peak of his betting.. and he will get a bad patch or bad time as like gilchrist and hayden faced.. Ponting is a gr8 player. but hes rate of convert 50's to 100 is amazing..hes playing xtra ordinary from last 2 years.. and time will shine him down and stop as like hes playing now these days.. :D

Hi, kashikooler979, From your question it seems that u r a great lover of cricket..

About Shane Bond, Yes he is the fastest and accurate bowler in the world of cricket at the moment. His greatest strength is to pitch the ball in the right spot and that to with the high speed and that too with complete accuracy. He hav control on all these qualities at same time. Brett Lee or Shoaib Akhtar are also quicks but they can achieve this right spot+accurate+high speed combination once in say 4-5 matches but not all the time. This makes bond superior. To be a CHAMP of game, the most important thing is to be consistant, Bond is a consistant performer. The only problem for him is the fitness. this is only threat to his career.... due to which he misses more than 2 years of cricket. otherwise his record would seems more impressive....

And regarding Ricky Ponting, yes he is at his best in his career. Today again a century... And about your observation of converting 50's to 100's . I also notice that after reading your question and then going through records. He is also a champ.. I like his one quality most, that is he raises his standard of game to very high on a very important match.. Like finals and the situation when australia demands a big innings fron him. He leeds from the front on a very important match. This quality is missing in my favourite sachin tendulkar. He has a very bad record of finals he played.. But ponting's style is different.....

its really unbelievable to see the run that ponting is having. man..he makes batting look so easy. he's been the top run getter in either forms of the game last year..and no doubt its pleasure watching HIM BAT. he has not got that hulky build like Flintoff's or petersen he looks just about average but the power he puts in his shots is amazingly high, he could hit sixes that could easily go outta d ground to virtually any FAST bowler in the world "WITHOUT moving his feet at all"..and those shots are a treat to watch. i think there should be no stopping to ponting as he is providing an example to all the batsmen in the world after having an extra load of captaincy!

SHANE BOND on the other side is very consistent, very fast and a potential match winner for NZ. his best part is that he always keeps the line and length's of his balls tight., even if he's not bowling quick on occasions. that makes him the most economical and consistent!!

Shane Bond is a good bowler for ODI as he strikes those early wickets and is also useful with the bat sometimes.

Ricky Ponting is a great player. He goes for the biggies not only in against weak teams but also the strong teams which is something great.

you r right in pointing out that shane bond is not only fast and furious but also accurate. he shows his capabilities as a bowler in the last world cup. he is a termendous bowler with neck of taking wickets at any time. he has won the first test with west indies recntly where wi were seem to be in a formidable position.as far as ranking is concerened i think at the moment brett lee of aus is slightly higher than bond because he is taking wickets against more formidable teams like srilanka, sa, england.

on the other hand i don't think that anyone can stop ponting at the moment looking at his form. definitely, he is in form of his life. infact his form is better than any other cricketer's prime patch. tendulkar too was in similar form during 1999 but cud'nt carry on because of injuries. hayden was on top of his game during 2001-2002 but now he's making a comeback. i think the reason behind ponting's prime form is his mental concentration and eager to win.

I dont know about shane bond,

but ponting to get him out you just have to take your chances, in all the matches you watch him he normally makes a mistake, but it isn't goobled up

among quick bowlers, bond is best because he is accurate. every one forgets this about ponting....ponting is weak at spin when he begins his innings....remeber his scores in india......1,0,0,6,11....ganguly used to introduce spin immediately after ponting came in

MAKE SHANE PLAY OUT OF HIS LAND..HE WILL BE PUNISHED..

IF PONTING FINDS HARBHAJAN ON HIS WAY, HE WILL BEGIN TO TUMBLE..
