Hey Fatima, sorry i just missed your question. Sorry sorry sorry..

Ok, my personal opinion is that India should play 5 bowlers (of course). Australia is the best batting line-up is the world right now so to handle their batsmen ,we definately need 5 bowlers.

As you know, i am a huge Sreesanth fan. I think, he should be in the team. People don't realize how much this guy adds to our team. We need aggression to beat Australia & Sreesanth is one guy who can do some serious damage in test cricket. Yes, in odi cricket, he may give away a lot of runs but he's always an asset in test cricket.

So, definately he's in my playing 11.

On a bouncy pitch, we should play 4 fast bowlers & 1 spinner (Anil Kumble)

& on a wicket good for spinners, we should play 3 fast bowlers & 2 spinners.

Harbhajan & Karthik both have done very well against Australia, so it will be a touch decision for the team management to pick one out of the two.

This is my bowling line-up on a bouncy pitch -

*Zaheer Khan

*Sreesanth

*R.P.Singh

*Irfan Pathan

*Anil Kumble

On a track good for spin-bowling, i will replace one of the lefties with either Murali or Harbhajan.

Aggression is the key. One think that we have learnt from Sri Lanka's tour is that we have to be aggressive to beat Australia, See, aggression was lacking in Lankan team & Aussies just thrashed.

That's the main thing, we should not allow them to control the pace of the game. They are past masters of this.

All the best to Team India, my best wishes are with them

& congrats to my friend Fatima, lol

My goodness, 400 answers?????

I am jealous,

ok ok, i will now ask a question. I will get 500.

Cheers!!!!

India should go with the 5 bowlers combination in Australia to win test matchs. India should win the test series in Australia and come back home. Last time when India team was there in Australia, India had drawn the series and it was Steve Waugh farewell series. Dont forget India was the one who stopped Australia from winning the 17th test one the row. Although it was in India. It dosen't matter how well they play i am sure this time we will win the series and make history. We will stop them once again but this time in Australia. We have been doing well in test abroad and there are some good players this time in team India who can do it and turn it around. India team morale is high in test and the old guns has to fire once again i mean

Sachin, Saurav, Rahul, Laxman and Kumble.

They should play 4 fast bowlers in every match and one of the fast bolwers should be a alrounder who can do the 7th batsman job. It is Irfan Pathan and he can do it. The other three is Seershant, Zaheer Khan and R.P Sing.

We have seen in the last tour of australia that it was the strong Indian batting that leveled the series. It will be the same this time too. It is more important to have a bowling stragegy which focuses on where to pitch the ball rather than how many bowlers to play. 5 bowlers is a must. In which we need to have variety. Kumble needs good support at the other end and Karthik suits best being a left arm. Now coming back to the area where they have to bowl.As we all know it has to be good length or just short of good length but notthing "Short". Aussi bats men are vulnerable to full length swinging deliveries. Indians have to make most of it. Yes a surprice short pitch ball should be there!!! but Indian bowlers should not get carried away by the bounce as we have a couple of them who would be bowling there for the first time.

According to me India Should play with 5 Bowlers (3 seamers and 2 spinners).3 seamers include Irfan Pathan who can also be used as a Batsmen in the Lower Middle Order after M S Dhoni.Irfan's inclusion will mean that India will have perfect balance in both the Bowling and Batting Department.

India should Bat really well so that our Bowlers will be in a position to take 20 wickets. If Batting fails it is very difficult for bowlers to get India 20 wickets.

In my openion all the 20 * 20 player who've record as they are the number one in all the series wether it is ODI or Test. The performance of Yuvraj sing & Dhoni (Captain) are very agressive and for the bowling strategy the team shoul keep Irfan Pathan, Sreesant, R.P Sing, Bhajji & Kumble has to be there.

last but not least there should be Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly in the Indian Squad.

If all these player will gather together then no one can defeat India. But there shoul be equiluibrium and understanding between the Indian players.

My best wihes is always there and India has to beat Australia coz they (Kangaru) thought that they are the no 1 team in ICC. India has to prove tht the Australia is just a team with mannerless player on the feild.

Thanking you

India must bowl around the off stump line and swing each and every ball considerably well. Bowl at good pace and not allow them to settle with one bowler. use 10 bowlers no problem But the ball should not be straight. Playing five bowlers gives us a less batting strength which is our strength. we should have seven batsmen and 4 bowlers. Part time bowlers must be used. so, even if bowling lets you down there is a batting for you. 3 fast bowlers and 1 spinner preferably harbhajan.

The test series against Aussies will be the real test the team India,as we can see the test series between Australia and Srilanka, aussies are in great form and their R.Rate is over 4 and they try to score more than 500 in their 1st innings, considering this India should play 5 bowlers,as Kumble becomes automatic selection for all the matches, according to picth condition India should play 4 seamers or 3 seamers + 2 spinners.

The Squad : Sehwag,Sachin

,Dravid,Ganguly,Yuvraj,Kaif,Dhoni,Kumble,Harbhajan,Pathan,Zaheer,Sreesanth,Ajit

Agarkar,Dinesh Kartik,R.P.Singh,Lakshman.

Consider the case of Kaif & Sehwag.Viru

has been failing quite consistently even though the

selectors have retained him.How is Kaif different from

Sehwag,he has also failed very less no of times

compared to Sehwag but the selectors have forgotten

Kaif. Finally,I don't mean to say that Sehwag & Kaif

should be dropped [never never ... in my dream also].

Talking about Kaif, why is Kaif being consistently

dropped for no fault of his?He is just being made as a

scrapegoat by the selectors. He will be in for 2

matches & will be out for the next 4 matches.Under

this circumstances, how can one expect him to be

consistent?Secondly,he is the second wall of India &

is the most dedicated player. If he is failing

continuously,he will realise his mistake & try to

correct it in the future games.Dravid has said that he

is the most sincere,hard-working & dedicated player in

the team.He is the mainstay in the batting order. How

can one think of removing him?If he is dropped,it is

the most disappointed, worst & bad news for India.

Anil is a special bowler with various

varities in his bowling like flipper, slow

ball, googly, varying the length to deceive the batsman

etc which no bowler can have these variations. He might

have gone for runs in the ODIs in the recent past but

it doesn't mean that he is not an ODI player.Even

so-called good bowlers like McGrath & Lee have gone

for more than 80 runs in their stipulated 10 overs in

most of their matches. For that reason, they have not

dropped McGrath or Lee.For instance if Lee or McGrath

is injured & unable to play, the Australians will feel

their absence & if they lose any tournment or any

match, they say that their key players's absence was

the cause for the loss.At the same time, here in

India, they drop the players like Kaif,Sehwag & Pathan due to

some silly reasons & say that there was no experience

in the respective Dept.Who had asked them to drop such

gifted players?

I think they should play 5 bowlers. The Combination of 4 Fast Bowlers & 1 Spinner is worthable under Australian conditions. Fast Bowlers include Zaheer Khan, Sreeshanth,RP Singh and Irfan Paathan. Captain Kumble takes the lone spinner spot.Zaheer and Sreeshanth share the new ball. If the Conditions are suitable for swing bowling, then try RP Singh with new ball.

We have breathing time before Australia tour. At present we have three good bowler who is Australians fears that Harbajan Singh, Murali Karthik, Irfan Pathan. If we have 5 bowlers that is better think. So as per that we will search for another 2 new bowlers. If we will take the following bowlers, the result will not come positively.

1.Zaheer Khan

2.Akarkar

3.R.P.Singh

4.Sreeshanth.

aggression right from the word go. Do a bowler(india) batsman (australia) attack ratio, based on vidoe clips and success rates of each of the indian bowlers against each of the australian batsmen. Make each bowler aware of the weakness of each australian batsman. Pitch a short delivery every now and then, once in a while get fielders inside the ring asking for the batsman to go for the bid shots, place a leg gully for Ponting, a deep midwicket for Gilly and a second slip for Symonds. An occasional stare at the batsman after a delivery and some decent sledging will work wonders

It is difficult to answer, but before making any strategy you have to look for the weakness in the Australian cricketers. If you watching closely the series between Srilanka vs Australia then you can find they are playing their regular pacers even Milanga the fast bowler has not showed any fireworks. The best strategy against the opponent team is look for their weakness. I would advise you guys please watch some previous games of Australian cricket team and play as many all rounders you can with atleast 4 bowlers because Australian pitches are good for pacers. It is a "payback time" Do not let us down. Best of luck for the series. cheers

If India play with 11 bowlers, then also they cant do anything against Australia. Because you need to bowled them out twice to win the test mach.

Better play with as many batsman, so atleast you ensures that you dont loose the match.

Good luck Team India.

I would beg to disagree here. Having 5 specialist bowlers will definitely be a help but it would weaken our Paper Tiger of a batting line-up considerably.

The ploy would be to play to your strengths. The team should be: Jaffer & Karthik (Opening), Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly, Yuvraj (Middle Order), Dhoni (Wicket Keeper), Pathan, Kumble, Harbhajan & Zaheer. The best combination available.

Ganguly, Sachin & Yuvraj must provide part-time bowling relief to the rest of the bowlers. Other than that, everyone must bowl the right line & length at any cost, bowl to a very aggressive & attacking field, keep the pressure on the Aussies constantly. Only then can the mighty Aussies be made to crumble in their backyard.

If we stick to the basics & execute right, the pressure will be immense on their heads to perform & not lose a home series to India. The cracks will then widen & India will just have to deliver the final KO punch.

Sounds simple, nah? It will require tremendous guts & discipline & digging into their combined decades of experience. Do our boys (& men) have it in them to become the new "Wizards of Oz"? Let's go watch Down Under...

India should opt for 7 bowlers and 4 batsman. out of 7 bowlers two bowlers should also do gud batting. it is no more obscure that whether u play 5 bowlers or 6 or 7 it will not do anything there coz at least i know that indian will lose both against australia.

India needs five bowlers, like harbhajan singh, murali kartik, rp singh, irfan pathan and zaheer khan. Firstly the pace bowlers must be used as usual then the spinners must be introduced early. Australians have always faced difficulty in facing the spinners. In the middle overs the Australians must be restricted, for this India needs early wickets. The fielding is another crucial factor, which always makes a big difference between the Indian team and the other teams. So, these are the factors which must be checked.

Well India should be playing with 3 specialist Bowlers, 3 Bowling Allrounders & 5 Specialist Batsman, with extra commitment in the field & aggression towards australians for they r excellent Players, but under pressure right now So this gives India a upper hand & advantage, which they have to grab it 100%, or Indian Cricket will be down after 5 Big Guns retire from cricket.

Australians have very strong batting line up. They always go for their shots. There is absolutely no room for error when u play against them. We need bowlers that can handle the presure and keep bowling consistent line and length. If Anil is selected as captain for the Australian series also then he will have to play all the test matches even if the surfaces dont support him. Zaheer and sreesanth may do fine but we need one more fast bowler that can bowl consistent line and length. One out and out fast bowler would lend balance to the team . Sometimes we lack that variety in our bowling. We need different set of bowlers for the one day version of the game. Zaheer and co are not that great while playing one dayers. I would play Zaheer, Sreesanth, R.P (Fast bowler), One good spinner depending on the pitch.

Simple to say : 2 Fast Bowlers, 2 Specialist Spinners, 7 Batsmen including Wicket Keeper. As Ganguly and Sachin too can bowl, can be utilized as change bowlers and another player if selected in eleven can opt for spin attack which will give best combination. The best Strategy is to outplay them with Swing Bowling and good Spin. India should play with 3 fast swing bowlers and 2 spiners. Don't dare to test them with body line Short pitch stuff every now and than. When Ricky Pointing come to crease immediately change to Spin attack, as he is vulnerable starter against Quality Spin Bowling. Read the weakness of Hussey, Jaques and Clarke through video clipings. Captain should try to convert the strongness of Australian Batsmen into there Weakness by placing a totally unexpected field placements supported by the bowlers. It should be hand-in-hand policy and compete team work.

For Batsmen i am having my doubts for Jaffer and Kartik as opener. Yuvraj should be in playing 11 as he is good player of fast bowling. Key batsmen are 1-Dravid, 2-Sachin, 3-Laxman, 4-Yuvraj in Australia. They should perform at any cost consistently.

India should go with 5 main bowlers (4 main + 1 genuine allrounder like pathan or preveen kumar). If one of this 5 fails

we still have part time bowlers to play a role

The role of 5th bowler is to take wickets not just to finish his quota, as it is very imporatnt to take the wickets and keep pressure on opponents. If we go with 4 bowlers its negative/defensive thinking and is no good for teams future /consistency

Strategy should be on base of the wicket. Don't think that AUS have only pitches helps the fast bowler, but we have seen many cases spinners getting turn n bounce in 4th & 5th day. So plan should be depending on the nature of the wicket. Three pacer n two spinner may be ideal. But, after all they should take on Aus with full positivism & give the best 4 the pride of the nation. Kumble is the new captain, lets see what he does!
2007-11-19 05:01:58 UTC
The Indians should play with 5 bowlers, 3 fast bowlers(Z khan,R singh, S sreesanth) and two spinners (kumble and harbhajan).

Against Indian batting line up, this time around there will be green Fast bowler friendly wickets, as was in south africa (first test, J'bourg) so i think fast bowlers might do the job.

Also Ajit Aagarkar can create problems using old ball (reverse swing), as he did in Adelaide last tour.

Bowling strategy/calibre and Fielding excellence/placements hinges on each other to produce Wickets. Kumble ,Harbhajan are wicket taking bowlers who also put lot of constraints on Australian batting particularly in Tests, by their capability for long consistent spells. These two must be supported by some extraordinary close in fielding around the bat---Gambhir,Dinesh Karthick ,Yuvi and of course Sachin and Dravid at Slips. Players who can't field well will be a liability for the team.Three Medium pacers of the team must maintain consistency and bowl to the field set for them. Winning against Australia is possible if you play aggressive cricket with Professional Grit and Game

Guys plz remember the success we got when we played the Aussies on their home last time , the strategy was simply which was applied by Anil Kumble itself. Aussies are good Front foot players but they are not good back foot players so go and bowl them and target their body with some bouncers and make sure that they play and stay at their back foot all the time. For Hayden go for stump attack with outswinging delivery. For punter the inswinging delivery with a player on short mid wicket . Like wise we have to make stratigy. According to my view Sreesanth will deliver the most among the Indian bowlers as his bowling has pace and meaty bounce but don't forget that he will be punished by the aussies also, but who matters that if a bowler takes 4 to 5 wickets giving more runs.

so lets hope that Indians can and will deliver a nasty ball to the Aussies to make them weeping through out the series.

Our strength is batting and being backed up by a couple of good bowlers. So for Australia, we need to back our batsman and expect them to score to hughe runs, especially in tests because that is what matters. Then we should go in with 4 bowlers with a batting all-rounders supporting them.

Out of the 4 bowlers we play it should be 2 fast-bowlers and 2 spinners, to have a good mix of variation. To name some one i say "Jumbo" will be our main weapon and should be supported by a left handed fast at the other or by Murali Karthik. we should also have the batting all-rounder who could bowl pace and use Tendulkar intelligently, infact I would likfe the captian to use VVS to bowl also, a surprise

1) Doesn matter if v have is 4 or 5 bowlers. V need to have a multi dimensional attack.. with genuine swing bowlers.. And pathan if selected, can play a major role as he is one of the most natural swing bowlers..

2) It is possi to get the australians out in the early stage of their game. Eg. Ponting shuffles across the stumps when he starts of his innings.. a good swing bowler can get him LBW..

3) The main strategy : Indentify every batsmens weak point. target that and bowl aggressively..

They must have 5+1 bowlers. The 6th bowler must be a batsman/bowler like Ganguly, Yuvraj, etc.

4 pace bowlers and 1 spinner.

Nowadays Harbhajan cannot not spin the ball, so Kumble would be sufficient.

India shouldn't have 2 take more stress. They should play only with 4 bowlers (3 pacer + 1 spiner). India have already some part time Bowler also, like; Sachin, Ganguly, Yuvraj, etc... the all players should have 2 consontrate only them performance... If they will play better... 100% india will win... India should have 2 improve their fielding standard... bowler should have play patiencely.... In final word in my view.... 4 bowler is sufficient.....

5 Bowlers with Combination of 3 Pacers and 2 Spinners. 3 (any combination) of the bowlers should be asked to go for wickets and the other 2 should contain or dry the runs. Make the austrailans work hard for every single run. Don't back off if they counter attack. if they counter attack the wicket will start fall then they started to fall in our game plan. All the very best to INDIA.

well.. i think India will anyhow loose against the Australia.

So, why you guys bother about bowlers(3/4/5)? Why not try with 11 batsmen ? Sehwag, Sachin, Saurav, Yuvraj will manage the bowling department. LOL. It can't get worse with this strategy. May be India will then manage to draw the series by batting out sessions ..hehehe

The only strategy that could work against mighty aussies is attack. The Indian bowlers should attack their batsmen with their full wit and craft. They should never go on defensive mode but should seal the batsman favourite area of hitting. Make proper and particular strategies for them and follow wicket to wicket bowling rule. The biggest drawback with indian pace bowler is that they do not use full pitch and bowl to a particular line and length. Let their batsmen to guess each delivery.

India shud stick to four pace three pace bowlers and two spin bowlers during the Aussie tour. Also they should keep in mind that bowling should be perfect at off stumps. And in between variations should be there and yorkers should be bowled. No leg attacks. Let Aussie's commit the mistakes. Frustating they would do the mistake and give us the wicket. So bowling should be tight and at right length. Rest the batsmen and fielders will take care off. One more thing that fielding should be tight and upto mark. For Australia the strategy should be 4 seamers and 3 spinners in Team. In seam department, RP Singh, Sree Santh, Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar/ Munaf Patel.( one bolwer who is line and length bowler and will not conceed runs, basically to choke the runs is must- Irfan Pathan can come in here). Spinners as Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Romesh Pawar/ Piyush Chawla/ Ashish Mishra.

Playing 5 bowlers is must of which two have to be spinners while three as seamers. Sree Santh, RP Singh and may be Zaheer/ Munaf/ Agarkar can make the bowling department. In case you need to remove one bolwer from playing 11, in that case need to have Bowling all rounder in team.

Most important is dry the runs for Aussies and you will get wickets and win the games. They hate bolwers who do not give runs.

To win against Aussies choke the RUNS ....

Have you played rubber ball. Normally it is bowled in the fashion called Under hand bowling. This can be best against Australia as over hand bowling, they know everything how to handle the ball. Only under hand bowling may baffle them from Indians. If not select all 11 bowlers to play, because Indians have no problem in batting, thay are super.

Pl go to study, dont waist your time on trivials. Cricket will not give you, the daily bread in future.

Our first choice should be S.Sreesanth because of his great aggression and positive attitude in the field. It is very surprising even today this kind of aggression is missing from Indian fast bowlers.

Irfan Pathan,Zaheer,Harbhajan Singh,RP Singh and Munaf Patel should also be included. In Test Match one fast bowler has to be replaced by Anil Kumble.Don't include M.Kartick.He is a slow left arm spinner. So his bowling style is not suitable for Austrelian bouncy pitches.

Please try to think +ve and be like sreesanth. Instead of criticizing him appreciate and encourage him to keep him going in the same way with firey aggression on and off the field.

Five bowlers(3 pace/swing + 2 spin) if it is batsman friendly and 4 bowlers(3+1 or 2+2) if it is bowler friendly.

Normally batting first will be wise unless under extremely bowler friendly condition.

There is no need to say that well directed bowling and energetic fielding will put pressure on the Aussies which is the most vital area where we must concentrate.

Aussies are vulnerable against off spin bowling for a long time. Whether it be Prasanna or Venkat Raghvan, they all had been able to trouble the Aussies. Aussies are strong against quick bowling (barring bodyline series against Eng in 1930's)) and leg spinners. In my view, we should give more emphasis on the spinners, since whoesoever is selected as fast bowler may more or less do the same damage to Aussies. Here, the role of Kumble will be important, as he will be leading the side for the first time, though he is known as leg spinner, but he hardly bowls any, most of his deliveries are either top spinners or googly. Harbhajan is a natural pick amongst the spinners, especially against Aussies. But we will need another spinner in this Aussies tour, otherwise our bowlers will have their last say in this tour.

No doubt india needs a bowler who can boal and bat. Preferably all rounder they should select. Mere bowling alone if they see they will land in scoring good runs with australia. They should prefeable select all rounder . Then only they can fight with australia. Minimum 4 fast bowlers and 2 spinners is required .

India should play with 4 bowlers.5th options would be sourav.he can bowl good spell with the semi new ball.instead of playing with 5 bowlers,we can take an extra batsmen.

I think they should play 4 fast bowlers that is Sreesanth, RP singh, Zaheer Khan & Irfan pathan, Pathan is also very handy with the bat where the Indians get a bonus of one more bats man in the team & a specialized off spinner Harbajan Singh

this is the way i think the Indians can really attack the World Champions.
2007-11-19 20:59:22 UTC
Clearly play 3 fast bowlers on bouncy Australian wickets with one of them being an all-rounder (obviously Pathan who would also strengthen the batting line up). Zaheer or RP to tackle the right handed batsmen [Ponting, M.Clarke and Symonds in particular] and Sreesanth for the left handers [Gilly, Hayden and Hussey]. Play Bajji to tackle the left handers since the faster bowlers normally find it difficult to bowl to left handers - remember we do not have a Srinath now. As captain obviously Kumble plays but like in the previous tour could be a handful on those bouncy wickets.

In australia, the wickets are soft and bouncy, the grounds are bigger. The indians need to just concentrate on line & length bowl according to the field. Spinners have an advantage against Australia, when the basman have the tendancy try to clear the ground, our fielders need to support the bowlers.

Is fun and humour counted as spam? Hope not. Here goes anyways..

When we have batsmen who can be counted upon to under-achieve any target, who needs bowlers, let alone a bowling strategy?

1. Put in 11 batsmen.

2. Have them each (except the keeper, if he's not inclined) take turns 'bowling'.

3. Which consists of standing at the crease, closing the eyes tight, whirling the arm, letting go, and hope for the best.

India must play with 5 bowlers. The bowlers must see that they bowl with a good plan in mind.. They shud avoid giving those extra runs.. If they stick to a plan they can make the Australians dance to their tunes..
2007-11-18 22:45:24 UTC
comparing with the conditions in Australia and Indian pitches .. in Australia it haves bouncy track.. so more than spin we must concentrate on the fast bowling.. like the swinging bowlers of India have Ir fan , R.p. sing & Zaheer .

Then the spin twins of captain kumble & the turbanator harbahajan singh.. will turn the match situations for the favour of the indians..

Thus the bowlers that team India can use in Australia..

India has lots of talent in bowling side. Shreeshant , Zaheer Khan , Rudrapratap singh have been bowling in aussie and pak series. They are really in good form. when aussie wicket is concerned then i think indian team management should play four fast bowlers and obviously one spinner kumble. Fourth fast bowler should be Irfan pathan. In aussie pitch he can have lots of swing . In previous series spin wizard Anil Kumble has been the yardstick of india bowling side. veteran leg spinner can show spin magic against aussie. Shreesant , Rudra ,Zaheer khan have to be aggressive what they have shown in home series against australia. last of all india young and experianced bowling side will give a tough fight against kangaroo's country.

The strategy is go with 4 fast bowlers+one spin ,if the pitch seem to help fast bowling and with 3 spin + one fast bowler if the pitch is slower.Because our strength is spin (Their fast bowling can be taken up by our batting so no worry)bowling, play with our strength and attack with our strength. Please remove Mr.Ganguly .He is playing for his self and lack self confidence, which is more important if u play against a side like aussie.

For the Australia's tour, we should target for not making them get a big score...

The bowlers must aim for their personal records like 5 wk hauls, maiden overs, hat-tricks, targeting particular batsmen, giving no boundaries in their 10 overs, etc.,

All these don't take as a funny thing... Because, from my point of view, if the bowlers look for their personal milestones, it wont affect the team's performance.

In my openion, first India should play two speener & three faster or medium bowler & should be allow change side of bowler always. Second, India should play more batsman bkz if all bats man make more run against australia then bowler will excite and they can do good performance. New bowler cricket player will choose one or two bkz australia will not deep study of new bowler.

India has o perform well with the swinging conditions out at Australia...For this Pathan and Agarkar have made BEST use of such conditions....now other question remains is of 2 other seamers, for which Zaheer and Sreesanth wud b the better ones to use.....

The spinners whu hardly make any mark on the Australian soil are a big prob..so for this the only experienced one i.e. Harbhajan and new sensation Murli karthik along with some usefull blows frm yuvraj will make INDIA a FULL PACKED bowling side!!

Before answering, let me remind you that India has 3 tests to go with Pakistan before touring Australia ... so still time!

India should have likes of Ajit Agarkar, Irfan Pathan - who performed well in Australia earlier - and also RP Singh - the emerging player of Indian squad.

Also not to forget Harbhajan Singh, Murali Karthik, who are wonderful spinners. If India wants 4th bowler - there is Sreesanth.

2007-11-19 08:13:46 UTC
AS usually the test track will be slow and a mediator pace so instead of having more fast bowling attack india should go with the spinners and the medium pace swingers as the pitch will be slow and also the batsman will be in the mood to play the longer innings so spin can handle it. and with a shower of pace in between the spin at regular intervals can help india against australia, as far as batting is concerned that is fine so not worry abt that except the correct order in which the batsman come to crease.
Nand
2007-11-19 03:51:40 UTC
Do what they do not expect. There was a time when Bishansingh Bedi used to bowl second or third over of the innings. Why our present spinners like Harbhajan or Karthik should not be given that opportunity? Australians like Adam Gilkhrist and Haydon will never budge to fast bowlers. why not try this strategy of using spinners at the start of the inning be used against them?
gaurav p
2007-11-19 23:27:36 UTC
First of all let me remind u that Anil Kumble is the test captain and he is the first spinner and might be the only spinner in the side(in case of fast pitches).

I think the bowling attack should be:

1.Zaheer khan

2.Ajit agarkar

3.Irfan pathan

4.Anil kumble

5.R.P singh / Harbhajan singh (depending on kind of pitch)

they might go with 4 bowlers on bowler friendly track.

If Indian team wants to win it will need the team to be a fit unit (specifically seniors) and energetic on the field i.e to field well.

Also it will need some good performance from the senior pros and good skills from the youth.

First we need team effort. We have experienced and youngsters in the bowling area. One main thing is the bowlers they should bowl in the correct line and length. The bowlers should have the ability, that is how to bowl depends on the pitch condition and also for player's weakness.

India Must always play its strike bowlers like Zaheer,Pathan and RP SINGH and go in with one spinner depending on the wicket.

Coz india needs depth in batting as well to put some runs on the board.

Part time bowling can be filled in with likes of ganguly, tendulkar, sehwag and yuvraj depending on whos in the playing 11.

Pitches in Australia are bouncy, unlike the ones in India which are flat.

Australian pitches except Adelaide are very suitable for fast/ medium pace bowlers. Adelaide is a scoring wicket and is ideal for batsmen to score runs , spinners will be useful on this wicket. All other pitches like Melbourn, Brisbane, Hobart, Sydney are fast and bouncy. So depending upon the venues, I think four genuine fast bowlers are reqd. The bouncy pitches are ideal for our bowlers like R.P. Singh, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan(He is our main weapon ) and ofcourse Shreeshant( agressive, very fast and a wicket taking bowler) and one cannot ignore Praveen Kumar, .

Indian Cricket Board sould have taken Kapil Dev's openion to transform all the pitches in India to bouncy pitches. But they have not considered his suggestion. The real test for our batsmen will be to utilise their batting skills upto 100 %. if they want to win a series in Australia.

Thank you,

i think Indian fast bowler's have the same firepower as the Australian's,the only thing in which they lack is the consistency.if they are consistent in their line & length then they compete with the Australian's. In spin department Indian's are more stronger then Australian ,but they have to play according to their Reputation.

But the most Important thing which matters is the batting lineup ,if all the batsman click's then India will definitely Dominate the Series as we experience this from the previous tour of Australia.

Keep it simple. Let the ball speak the language of aggression. Certainly use 5 bowlers with Irfan Pathan as the 5th bowler and as an all rounder.
2007-11-19 04:00:02 UTC
Anil kumble is the captain so he has to play no other way (playing him in all test matches abroad is a big question mark)harbajan will be playing and then zahir due to his experience and then shrishanth should play because aussis will be trying to thrash him which inturn might yield us wickets. And we won't be playing five bowlers because we cant overate our batsman in the fast tracks of australia.

Srilankan's are hammered by them we cant be treated as the same because we have the wall dravid and sachin and laxman who have the ability to handle aussie bowlers

India Should play with 1 allrounder 3 seamers and a spinners.

Zaheer and RP Singh should share the new ball

Munaf/Sreesanth and Irfan Pathan should be the other two quickies

Spin legend Kumble should lead the spin attack. The part timers like sourav and sachin should also be used. They can play a vital role.

This will be the best bowling attack....

Whatever the combination, our bowlers should stick to following.

1] The quick bowlers should concentrate on swinging/seaming the ball accurately on a good length with average speed above 135kph.

2] Spinners should concentrate on spinning & turning the ball with guile to buy the wickets instead of trying to restrict the flow of runs.

Our bowlers should strickly avoid giving opportunities to Aussie batsmen to play HORIZONTAL shots.

India should keep 5 regular bowlers(3 Pace+2 Spinners).Try to give them full length bowling ,not much flight to first 5 batsmen, spinners should try to turn as much as possible with wrist or with body.Do not allow Shreeshanth to bowl wide,no bowls and short pitch bowl.Control the runs in first 10 overs as much as possible to curtail the run rate in one dayer's.Our pace bowlers should not give lose bowling and for tail enders they should bowl yorker and at the feet where batsman is standing.

there should be 5 bowlers but in the 5 bowlers there should be allrounders also. like Irfan pathan or Praveen kumar. Because they can bowl also and bat also. they can do well by keeping themselves over aggressive like what sreesanth does. yhey should keepthere line and length at proper areaand should have variations in bowling. they should keep changing there bowling attack like sometimes sachin or ganguly should also bowl for some perior for the purpose of breakthrough.

Captain kumble should not keep fast bowling for long spells otherwise they will not able to feild also.

most australian picthes prefer seamers and pacers rather than spinners.

therefore bowling must be like this:

1. Zaheer Khan

2. R P Singh

3. Munaf Patel (whoes presence will be very crucial with his ability to bowl well with old ball also whether it is SG or Kookaburra ball)

4. Irfan Pathan (can serve as an allrounder)

5. Anil Kumble

6. Harbhajan/ Kartik (depending on their form)

and if its a batting track then any one baller (2,3 or 6) can be left out and a be replaced for a batsman.
2007-11-19 00:06:10 UTC
They should go in for 3 fast bolwers namely Sreesanth, Irfan Pathan, RP singh and they should rotate the bolwers like Sreesanth and Zaheer Khan on match to match basis. Rest they can assure of spinners like Anil Kumble, Murali Karthik and Hrbhajhan. The most important thing is that the indian team should not go without Sourav Ganguly. He has done tremendouus job in Australia, when they met last time in Australia. He can also give suggestions at necessary time.

Pace bowling: RP Singh, Zaheer and Sreeshanth. [ Irfan not likely to Perth, Melborne and Sydney]

As for as our indian bowling concerned, it is not upto the level of mark.. should develop the line and length....

Aussies don't worried about any bowler in the world... they just keep scoring runs without any hesitation..

so, capatain dhoni will play with extra bowlers..

Moreover victory is not in our mind... we just want to draw all the test games.... it is too difficult to make even draw with them...

i am not against indians...

I think indian team should include shreesanth as main strength to take wickets with zaheer, Spin option would be with jumbo and karthick, include rpsingh also, 6 Batsman is enough i think.

Since in test cricket its a matter of taking 20 wickets in 2 innings, so bowlers will become benchstrength.

Every damn batsman(moreover,a new man on the crease) in this world is tentative on the body-length delivery on/around the off stump just over the bails' height. So,considering that length in line,we should ball.It should be 4 seamers(sreesanth is going to be our trump card,if he concentrates on this fact rather than the sledging;he has the aggression to make a huge difference).Playing 2 spinners wont help in the australian conditions. Zaheer,r.p.singh and ajit agarkar can be vital.

Other important fact is going to be the field placement strategised according to the batsman who's just arrived on the pitch. India must bowl to their field, its going to be crucial. Keeping a packed off-side(6 fielders in the slip corden,to be precise)and bowling in that channel will definately curb 100-150 runs. The current fielding is no match to the australian standards,it must improve 200 times!

first they should improve in running because Australia grounds are very big so if any shot went through fielders they can catch the ball.2.indian players should take heavy bats with them so that the power will be more and it will suit 4r Aussie grounds3.two medium pacers,1slow Left arm spinner,1leggie &ifast&swing bowler see there is one comparisionwatch the srilanka and aus series no sri lanka bowler is effective in aus aganist aus even murali so india should keep one thing in mind dont go for pace go for swing previously aus was struggled with slow spinners and swingers like great wasim akram.while bowling make aussie to thimk what will be the nxt ball but dont go for pace and bouncers]

India should play with 5 bowlers but, No bowler should give any room to the batsmen. Bowl wicket to wicket. Bowl only one ball outside the off stump, if you think it will give outside edge. But I don't think that Australian batsmen are not fools to attempt those outside the off stump balls. So try to bowl on the stumps and keep the fielding tight.
2007-11-18 23:19:37 UTC
I think they should play with 4 recognised bowlers, three pacers and 1 spinner and india have much options of part time bowlers.because australia's main strength is their bowling and india should play with 7 batsmen.

I think its the lac of dedication to the sport by the sportsmen. We can say that poverty, sponsorship, facilities and so on is all a factor for not producing a good sports person. It is a fact, I dont disagree with it but think of african countries like kenya, namibia etc.. Are we below these countries in any standards?

The pitches in Australia are sort of helpful for fast bowlers, it assists pace, bounce, and swing. The subcontinent players tend to be difficult to adjust to Australian pithces, so we need to have an extra fast bowler, my suggestion is we have to go with Zaheer, Irfan, Sreesanth, Rp Singh, Anil Kumble for test and Harbhajan, Zaheer, Sreesanth, Irfan for one dayers, which would be ideal to put a fight.

I think if india win 1st 2 two test matches against the Pakistan . India should rest Zaheer, R.P.Singh. Sreeshant. Than they will rearing to go aganist AUS.

They should concentrate on line & Length plus swing. Bcoz last time india success came because of swing of Zaheer in 1st test. They should plan against each batsmen how should operate to Ricky, Hyden, Clerk, Adam, Phil. They should maintain one line & length to new batsmen on consistant basis ask the capitan to arrange the filed according to that.

Some time in austrila on flat wicket there batsment score big runs. There for every Indian bolwer should have 3 to 4 plan against each batsmen but line lenght must not get wayward.

Doesnot play Bhajji in any of the test in Austrila. Once batsmen start going after them. He look nervous than advantage will taken by Austrila batsmen.

i think there should be five bowlers including a spinner and four fast bowlers, bcoz Australia has a fast, bouncy & sporty wickets in which spinner might be not as much useful as fast bowlers. Must also given a turn to Sourav as a medium fast bowler he can be very useful....

2007-11-19 19:49:12 UTC
I think India will definitely have to play 5 bowlers one of which will be Irfan pathan as he will provide depth in batting too and one spinner (Kumble).Bowling just round about off stumps at good length will be vital as we know Aussies do hve a tendency to nick one or two no short pitch stuff as they r very strong pullers and hookers.

2007-11-19 01:31:21 UTC
India should go with 5 bowlers (3 pacer+2 spin)

Srisanth,Pathan and Zahir khan is a gud combinatin in pace while Harbhajam should join the spin with Kumble.....
BRAHMAYYA N
2007-11-18 23:02:18 UTC
They should select bowlers on merit basis only. Bowlers should aim at bowling and get the batsmen out, instead of indulging in horrible looking body lanuage. Aussies are not children and they are not freightened of ugly postures. You can't take wickets by threatening .

2007-11-19 21:47:44 UTC
definitely 5 bowlers shud b playing and according 2 me irfan pathan will definitely play a crucial role there.

no body in india is still better then pathan in swinging the new ball and he can put aussies on the back foot.

also indian bowlers need 2 bowl wicket 2 wicket and b deciplened.

remaining will happen automaticaly

because there are part time bowlers are in the team. This is the best thinking that i prefer to go to the Australia tour.

They should play with 5 bowlers with 1 specialist spinner. They also can use the option of Sachin, Sourav, Sehvag or Yuvraj.

2007-11-19 10:07:44 UTC
As it is crystal clear that Australians are champions in all departments of Cricket, India with 4 seam bowlers & 1 spinner as option should play aggressive cricket to disturb kangaroos' batting defence. Indian bowlers should bowl yorkers often, instead of short pitch ones. They should use inswingers/outswingers at the point of 15 - 16th yard to have snicks to wicketkeeper/slip fielders. They must bowl slowers in between with fuller length & they must keep strict vigil at the week defence of Australian Batsmen & bowl accordingly to get wickets & win tests. They should copy bowling rythem of old stalwarts *** best bowlers ever made in the history of cricket namely -----> Wasim Akram of Pakistan, Glen Mcgrath & Shane Warne of Australia & currently Dale Steyn of South Africa.......

I think India should go for planned attack. They should restrict the Australia from taking singles during 20-40 overs. These singles are causing a lot of damage. I think Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, Pathan should be in the squad.

5 bowlers is a must... coz only bowlers can win tests in Australia. 3 pacers, Zaheer, R.P., Munaf & Pathan alongwith Kumble. In Sydney the combi should b Bhajji/Kumble/Zaheer/RP & Pathan. Don let them score huge runs coz that will b the path of downfall. Bat first get a formidable score & then attack with five.. this shud b it.. BEST OF LUCK GUYS

Its not about having 5 bowlers or 4 bowlers....

Its about consistent line and lenght....Bowling yorkers regularly....having variations..

I feel some times our bwlers go totally blank when Aussies start assaulting them....they are not God....do not think that reputation of the batsman....just think he is just a batsman having a bat in his hand....

All this should be supported with attacking fielding...

specially against Auzz...the game becomes a more of mental game....

Do not speak ...... show by action...they wil automatically shut commenting in the feild.......

ndia should be playing with 3 specialist Bowlers, 3 Bowling Allrounders & 5 Specialist Batsman, with extra commitment in the field & aggression towards australians for they r excellent Players, but under pressure right now So this gives India a upper hand & advantage, which they have to grab it 100%, or Indian Cricket will be down after 5 Big Guns retire from cricket. i

It dsn't matter hw many seemers v hv. It all depends on the consistecny of the bowlers. Evn our spinners n fast bowlers cn restrict them. Bt v r lacking of consistency. I thnk v should concentrate more on the three like bowling, batting n fielding. I thnk india should work on spin bowling coz australians can't face spin comparing to fast bowling.

i think that India should go with 5 bowlers. we should pick the front line bowlers like zaheer,r p sing, sreesanth, harbhajan, irfan pathan.being a pacy wicket .we should go in these manner,to strenght our batting line up also by including pathan, these are the bowlers who can provide a good start and personnely my feeling is these bowlers have good temperment & guts feeling i hope they can do the job well.speaking about sreesanth he is a good swing bowler. and he as good aggersion .in the field which ilike it,so many players doing so many things in the field players like, andre nel,

Indian bowlers should be expecting long, tiring and frustrating days. They should try and play two spinners because their only weakness lies in playing spin. Hello

Strategy is not main criteria which has to be considered.

Main point is that when players are selected there must be a person who can both bowl and bat. These days there are so many people around like that who can do well in both.

So during selection commite must be very careful in selecting then sky will be limit for indians

All the best India.

Definitely we should have atleast 4 strong bowlers in our team. And our batting team should also be very strong enough to fight against them.B`coz they are very strong in both the sides.our first spell bowlers should at least take 2 wickets rather than containing the overs.
2014-07-01 12:08:46 UTC
There is absolutely no room for error when u play against them. We need bowlers that can handle the presure and keep bowling consistent line and length. If Anil is selected as captain for the Australian series also then he will have to play all the test matches even if the surfaces dont support him.
2007-11-19 20:20:58 UTC
4 seem and 1 spin bowler, even though aus pitches r fast tracks

aus r weak while playing to slow left armers.

seemers has to cocentrate on wicket to wicket bowling as aus r good at playing outside stump balls.

wicket to wiclet bowling is only one option for indians so the bowlers having cool head has to be in the team.

Chek de India.................

I strongly feel Zaheer-Ajit-Sreesanth combo could do the trick. Sreesanth will surely get carried away, given his temperament. All this not withstanding, Sreesanth will be india's trump card, provided he's in full control of his senses and remains consistent. Agarkar will do well to move the ball away from the batsmen and zaheer can be a tough nut to crack, given his accuracy. The Jumbo experience of kumble, Harbhajan's doosra's can virtually make life hell for the aussies.

Do well, Team India!

Hi Guys ,

I reckon the squad should be mainly experiened players and very few youger ones cause we have seen ODI`s with Aus lastmonth ....that was a disaster,i don`t know why you people have forgotten kumble ...we need him now than ever before . the 11th one could be either Gambihr or RP singh depending upon the circumstances, and dont forget our only weapon aganist Aussies in test matches MR.Laxman....if he in form he should be included in place of gambhir......Dravid for chirst sake no no no BIG NO.......i am not aganist dravid but his mind is totally screwed by the things happened to him ,

INDIAN Squad for Test matches :

1.Sachin

2.Ganguly

3.Yuvraj

4.Dhoni

5.Uthappa

6.Anil kumble

7.Harbhajan singh

8.Khan Z

9.IK Pathan

10.Sreesanth

11.RP singh or Gambhir

in case of injury or anything , backup palyers can be laxman (if he in form or else air-fare waste ), shewag,Dravid not an option (at present situations).

they should play with 4 bowlers and 1 all rounder..so yes 5 bowlers
2007-11-19 09:04:58 UTC
first in test india should field in with 5 bowlers with 4 pace & one spingoing with sreesanth, zaheer,r p singh, murli or kartik spinner choice,&one frm up the new face then they should not try out something new just strict to basic dry up the runs with tight line &length bcouz australia like to score fast & they will take risk thats the key mean that dont go for wickets agressive field setting but just outside off line is imp otherwise all knw what haapened with srilanka specially with harbajan bowling to ponting keep 2nd slip it will work out

I think India players should play with more enthusiam and sincerly against aussies bcoz if India won the 20-20 match against aus. they can easily win 50 over match also. Indian players are not less than aussies. India has done in the past and India will do again

obviously we should play 5 bowlers against australia including all-rounder like irfan pathan. we should throw bowling from the maximum bowlers.

2007-11-19 04:50:20 UTC
Better to have sreesanth out of the field and he is missing the line and length of the ball and better to go with praveen kumar as he is swinging the ball too. Should have RP Singh, Irfan, Zaheer and Praveen kumar. RP Singh is keeping up on the stumps. Zaheer who is the one who can swing the ball on either side. Irfan and praveen are good bowlers. Finally Harbhajan, who could change the directions of the match at anytime. If it is so, we could be having stronger batting line adding Irfan and praveen kumar.
2007-11-19 04:23:35 UTC
I think, we should go with four bowlers and also make the partime bowlers like Yuvraj, Sachin, Ganguly as full time bowler, so as we can able to be strenghten both in batting and bowling.

No,Its not. They are the worldchampions. They will prove there ability.

Same our indians are also T20 worldchampions. They will also prove there ability in austrlians in the last T20 match.

Anyway

(I think they should play 5 bowlers against australia - False)

our selectors are not good to select Test match.

we should select depend upon players who are having ability for(T20,50-50 & Test Match).

selector should pick atleast two RHB Seam and Swing Bowler as Kangaroos are li'l vulnerable against them. i wont think so spinners will create any impact , so my selection for the test in Australia will be 5 Bowlers i.e. S Sreesanth, Zaheer, RP, Kumble, Agarkar/Pathan
2007-11-19 00:05:32 UTC
I guess Kumble's guys land on ground by containing 5 bowlers as Mr skipper is the vetnar agst Aus'es
2007-11-19 10:14:16 UTC
The present strategy is working great ! This is the best strategy i am seeing after a very long time now !! Definitely young players must be provided enough room to hone their skills apart from the regular 20s to get going strong and 30s to stick to display their resilience !

2007-11-19 09:49:02 UTC
whatever be the bowlers ratio , they must keep good length.

They must observe australian bowling, Only duty of the bowlers to pitch in correct spot the rest will do the pitch.

Inswingers are the weakness for ausis lefthanders especially Gilchrist. Be aggressive in field, Dnt allow them to overtake in any period.
aswath12345
2007-11-19 08:24:30 UTC
i think every aussie batsmen is in peak form after thrashing the srilankan bowlers....so i think our bowling attack should consist of a spinner n 4 pace bowlers-zaheer,sreeshant,rp.singh n pathan...they should bowl de 'outside offstump' line n make the batsmen play that line so that they may get a nick n get caught behind....no need to try new things cos we aren't playin against a weak team....also bowlin that line wil also reduce their scorin rate unless they decide to take risks...we'd rather draw a match than lose one by trying new things which usually dont work....

Why india is failing whith aus?1.No dedication.2.No team sprit.3.Not analysing the situation.First study about australian play in field in batting and in bowling. They know which batsman needs which bowler.

They maintain line and length and field placement and also in batting.

With 10 bowler if inidia have also it is of no use.we have use line and length the phase should be perfect.and change of phase every ball to ball will trouble the batsmen.

Our india batsmen also very foolish play they will play if on stats hitting then all 11 player will be hitting .If one falls down then the will form a line to pavelion.

Their is no consantration whith our team mates

So i say we should have confidence.and dedication, team sprit and analysing the situation .

5 Bowlers out of which, atleast 3 can bat a bit...we have Zaheer, kumble and harbhajan who can bat and are always required...not that they experienced but they are respected by Aussies batsmen. Ideal combination is above three with irfan and choice betwen kartik and sreeshant , depending on the condition of the pitch, on that day.

our bowlers must be aggressive, use bouncers and yorkers as many as possible, work as a real team with mate bowlers, place value on every run they concede to batsmen, be disciplined, take the tour as a test not a gift, think to give their best without expecting anything for individual rewards. work harder then asked for by the coaches and team management, if one thinks mate bowler has better chance of doing well give him the best of assistance without thinking about personal achievement and limited rewards.

1)make all kind of pitches

2)give coching to pace bowlers and teach them how to bowl yorker, bouncer, swinging in both sides, reverse swing, round the wicket etc...

3) make very good side bench of bowlers.

4) implement rotational policy, that will get enough rest to players.

5)select talented young 20 or 30 players and send to mrf pace foundation.

6) approch in professional way like australia.

7)dont mix politics in selection procedure.

Because Zaheer, RP & Irfan's swing & Shreesanth's aggression will keep Indians hot in auzee's conditions. And Kumble is always stunning performer.
2014-04-27 19:07:05 UTC
Zaheer and sreesanth may do fine but we need one more fast bowler that can bowl consistent line and length. One out and out fast bowler would lend balance to the team . Sometimes we lack that variety in our bowling. We need different set of bowlers for the one day version of the game. Zaheer and co are not that great while playing one dayers. I would play Zaheer, Sreesanth, R.P (Fast bowler), One good spinner depending on the pitch.

5 Bowlers - 3 Pacers and 2 spinners

Sreesanth, Zaheer, Irfan. - Irfan is a good all rounder

Kumble and Harbhajan - Kumble can again bat well.

The entire squad should have one extra pacer which would be R P Singh and one extra spinner as Murali Kartik.

What do you all say ???
2007-11-19 21:30:39 UTC
We must go with 4 fast bowles & 1 spineer, means Zaheer, RP, Irfan, Shreesanth & Kumble would be a best combination.

2007-11-19 02:26:34 UTC

I think to bowl out Austrelia is defficult task but not impossible. As we all know they are good againest pace attack but if you remember all our wins came when our spiners had done well. So I think we have to go with atleast two quality spiners and three quality pace bowlers. Then we have to concentarte on the batting also as they have an advantage on the home ground.
Murthy B
2007-11-19 00:51:29 UTC
India should go all-out against ozes. There are many instances idea are bowled out for less than 100 due to pace attack. India should take youngsters who can bowl fast and attack australian batsman. Indian batting is not predictable in australian conditions. So it is better to put our money on bowling and fielding, which can save some runs to batting.

2007-11-18 23:09:15 UTC
I think it is beeter to go with 5 bowlers always .As we have strong batting line up no need to have 6 th batsman in XI.

But we need to have an complete all-rounder means like kapil dev,

then only we will be the winners always

with out complete all rounder we should not excepect much from team india

AUSIES R VERY GOOD FOR FASTERS, ZAHIR, RP, IRFAN, CAN BE THERE, BHAJI-KUMBLE COMBINATION CAN BE DEADLY SO DO NOT UNDERATE THEM AS ONE IS OFF & OTHER IS LEG SPINNER, INDIA SHOULD START WITH ZAHEER-RP, IRFAN CAN COME LATER WITH KUMBLE, THEN BHAJJI SHOULD REPLACE IRFAN, NO DOUBT SACHIN, DADA AND YUVI CAN ALSO BOWL WELL.

INDIA SHOULD NOT TRY PACE BATTERY IN THE LATER OVERS BUT CAN DO WITH MEDIUM & PREFERABLY SPINNERS. LET ASSUIES TAKE THE CHANCE. THEY R OVERCONFIDENT THEY R LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAY THE PACERS BUT WE SHOULD'NT GIVE THEM THE CHANCE.

MAKE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT STRATEGY, IRRITATE THEM BY SLOWER ONES. BOWLERS SHOULD BE REPLACED WELL IN TIME DO NOT EXERT ONE BOWLER TOO MUCH.

I think Indians have to do their basics correct. Bowl to a plan, have patience, have field accordingly. There is no one strategy which would help as far as i am concerned. They have to plan traps for each of the Top order Australian batsmen. Have to do a lot of anlaysis of where they are having their weakness and strengths and bowl accordingly. Have to be aggressive (may be like sreesanth:-) sometimes).
2007-11-19 04:11:23 UTC
I think India's bowling will be good in Australia. But it will be not so effective compare to Indian pi ch. Because it is very difficult to play against Australia in their own pi ch. It will be definitely tough.

I guess there should be an attacking field set for the fast as well as spin bowlers. According to me indian players are not disabled players they just lack confidence.

pitch it up..

keep it good just on the off stump

I think INDIA should definetly pick 5 front line bowler in playing 11 . my list would be for one dayers

zaheer , pathan , praveen kumar, harbhajan, murali karthick or sreshanth

we should definetly go with pathan and praveen because these two can contribute with bat significantly and this will give batting order depth , Batting depth is definetly reqd to beat a team like Australia and with this combination we can

first let me tell the tale of batting line up...

1) sachin

2) saurav

3) dravid

4) yuvraj

5) dhoni

6) uthappa

no change must be done in this order... (sehwag must be excluded , "no" for laxman )

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now coming to bowling..

there will be enough bounce in the pitch there , so playing spin and pace altogether can help a lot for us,

regarding pace,

1) rp singh

2) pathan

3) ajit agarkar or munaf patel

the above three will be the best combination , (zaheer will add runs , hence to our ruins )

where as in spin ,

1) as usual, the legendry anil kumble

2) harbajan or kathik

who is playing doesnt matter , who is going to win matters !

they have,

lee

tait

johnson

bradd hogg , all are match winners...

we know that our bowling is a question mark , but we can make history with bat .

lets hope for sachin and saurav to blast the aussies...

opening spell RP singh, zaheer for 10 overs

11-16 overs irfan pathan and sree santh

harbajan, ganguly 17- 23 overs

sreesanth- yuve- pathan this combi nation should bowl for 6 more overs then the rest bowlers. if sachin can also be used in the middle as rp singh-sachin- zaheer or pathan -sachin- zaheer

bcci to select five batsman, two good all-rounder,four bowlers with spin.in our india there are so many all-rounders but the bcci members to select them.in all-rounders the commitee must have full satisfaction with the all rounders if not then india play with normal five batsman, five bowlers and one spinner.but we want to attack the australian players with technically.if we attack aus by tech means then we can play with three bowlers.but bowlers be confident because aus pitches are very good pitches for bowling and batting

Consider the pitches in Australia and the way they approached muralitharan,i feel 3pacers+1 spinner, and part time bolwers like sachin, yuvraj will be of help.I think it is better to concentrate on batting as most of the pitches are batting pitches with less assistance to spin.
2007-11-19 09:23:57 UTC
Hi Fatty, What is more important to beat Australia is to bowl in the right areas and consistency. They are really tough to beat at home. The aggression shown by Sreesanth is need in his performance and not just in behaviour. He can be very handy if he bowls in the right area. What say??
Senthilkumar Rajendran
2007-11-19 01:05:41 UTC
Indians need 3 fast bowlers with one spinner because yuvi and shewag are there for spin ans sachin too..

Medium face sourav and pohit sharma are there.

The total team need 5 blowers, 3 batsmen and 3 all rounders.
2014-05-14 04:38:22 UTC
For Batsmen i am having my doubts for Jaffer and Kartik as opener. Yuvraj should be in playing 11 as he is good player of fast bowling. Key batsmen are 1-Dravid, 2-Sachin, 3-Laxman, 4-Yuvraj in Australia. They should perform at any cost consistently.
2007-11-19 21:22:45 UTC
Zaheer and R.P Singh are capable of damage Aussie batting order.Sreesanth will be always at his best, when we play outside the country .Anil and 'The Turbonator 'can do the rest.

This line up is one among the best bowling departments ever for team INDIA.

Hi Dhoni, Greetings.

Please tell your boys to avoid wides and no balls in order to save many runs. When free hit is given, tell your bowlers to be as cunning as Aussy bowlers, by not giving any single run. Because, when free hit is given our boys become too submissive or docile in bowling.

Also urge them to dive(die) for the ball while in the fielding.

i t is not like bowling to Aussies in 20/20.

First train them to bowl wicket to wiket,

Bowl correct length in such a way so the ball acumps to hip or little heigh, none of our bowlers have not learnt that trick.

Your spinners are totally usless, they don't know how to spin or the ability to spin like BK chandra (was also my student), including Anil, atually Anil was my student in his PUC course. People get out to hi,m after getting bored with him.

There are many, these are only few for i know i played cricket in my college days in Central college, Bangalore.

of course yes they should play with 5 bowlers because there is possibilities of failure of 1 or 2 blowers. As a spinner only kumble is sufficient ,our part time bowler sachin, saurabh, yuvraj can do well.as per my opinion 4 seamers+1 spinner.

Not to give them width to free their arms. This is not only against Australia but against all the nations.

5 specialist bowlers is a must if they have to contain the australian batting order. zaheer khan r p singh and sreesanth should be the three seamers. i would suggest pathan to be included in the team as he is a very good all rounder. and in the spin department it should harbhajan and and captain kumble.

hello everyone!!! i think india should go with five genuine bowlers or anathor option is they should go with five bowlers including one allrounder and they should try to adopt as an aussieee strategies with a bit of a aggresion and try to bowl against australian in form side with very much dissipline with try to bowl off stump and off and middle line with pace... that would be halpful because here in australia bowlors gets extra bit of bounce to make batsman think!!!!!!!

Jaques and Clarke through video clipings. Captain should try to convert the strongness of Australian Batsmen into there Weakness by placing a totally unexpected field placements supported by the bowlers. It should be hand-in-hand policy and compete team work.
2007-11-20 06:32:51 UTC
india should play 4 seamers and bhajji. the bowlers should be sreesanth, pathan, z khan and agarkar i think. I always feel that sree is a good test bowler. agarkar is askiddy customer im sure the aussies wont take him lightly(all ajit fans plz prayfor his selection) further indians need to be patient as they always bat well o n home turf. i think sree and bhajji would hold the key.
2007-11-19 08:25:47 UTC
1.First of all all our players should suit with australian conditions.

2.All our bowlers should DEFINITELY want to stick into basics by pitching the ball into right areas.

3.Its quite necessary to play 5 bowlers. If indians want to win a match there means "THE POWERFUL SWING BOWLING ESPECIALLY FRM ZAHEER AND PATHAN SHOULD BE ESSENTIAL".

india should not afford too many runs they should try to bowl according to the field and not to try too many things, just stick to the basics.spinners will have akey roll in indias bowling .the part time bowlers should try to restrict runs and main spinners should take wickets
2007-11-19 20:14:00 UTC
its gonna be tough not for india but 4 australia surely...australia wil under tremendous pressure if india manages to draw or win de first test...i would want to c chawla in de test squad..may try him for one test match atleat..i feel hayden n pontin wil find him a bit difficult...india should go in wit 3 fast bolwers if ganguly s in de playin 11 else de shuld go wit four ..i would not take karthik bcoz dos pitches don suit him at al.. australian pitches suit our fast bowlers..i would like to c,1.sreeshant,2.rp singh,3.zaheer khan,4.kumble,either 5.irfan pathan or chwala or harbajan or powar ..i would want sreeshant to continue his outpour of agression on aussie, its really re freshin to c someone challenge aussie in tht fashion

its not all abt swing or pace or spin.inia need perfection in its bowling dept as it has in its batting. it dosent bother what ever wicket it is it only matters abt line and length along with some swing. india is not consistent abt its line n length if they r then bowlers are going to win matches for india.

2007-11-19 07:47:15 UTC
According 2 me i think dat they should adopt the stragedy dat they used against pakistan. But as Australia is a tougher team india must hve senior players for playing for they r xperienced. The new players should get a chance 2 play once india wins the series.India should improve its fielding. This way they will make up for a short aim 2 achieve.australia's bowling skills r unbeatable therefore good bowling is required.

That's it wat i say!!

I just heard from australian cricketer simons today that australian team is waiting for indian team and planning to destory indian bowling especailly sreesanth. Indian bowlers need to keep up line and length, do not worry about speed., profile each batsman's weakness and attack their weakness constantly

4 fast bowler & 1 spinner. 3 fast boller should ball first 12 overs in rotation with changing ends every over than next 8 overs 1 new boller shd replace 1 non effective fast boller & 1 spinner shd ball 4 overs each so by 20th over every boller used for 4 over each & than in 2 over spell every boller can be tried. Any part time boller can be used for breaking partnership.

well!! i think the players should have confidence in themselves.....if we lose our confidence then they'll surely take advantage of it .....

i think theformat should be-

1-10overs(fast bowlers)4overs-zaheer,4 overs-sreesanth..

10-30 (spinners)10 overs murali kartik,5-overs bhaji,5 overs -part time bowlers like sachin nd yuvi....than 30 to 50 the fast bowlers with some spin overs in between......nd keep in mind is to take wickets......sreesanth should get a chance only if he learns to control his aggresion.....
2007-11-19 09:48:54 UTC
they want to keep score board going.so first attacking point is to bowl on right line n length,, (they will definatly loose wickets this way)

secondly our bowlers must know d weak points of each n every batsman of ausies......e.g., A. Gilcrist is weak at the pull shots so it is easy to bol aa few right line bowls and then a short pitch over mid wicket....

thirdly,,,, let d bouler bowl fm the end he likes to,,,

think aggresive,, be confident,,,

India should go with four bowlers with three fast bowlers and one spin bowler.since those pitches will be bouncy wickets,it will be better to have 3 fast bowlers.they should bowl well ,gud line and length and try to bowl bouncy delievers .they hav to practice to bowl bouncers .nt just bouncers, bouncers with gud control, otherwise we are goin to suffer.since their batting line up is the best,we hav to put 200% effort.jaques, clarke, hussey, symonds are in unbelievable form ,it will be difficult to stop them from scoring,if we bowl like wht we bowled to the pakistan,so we have to bowl with pace and bounce with gud control, all bowlers should sit and hav to learn wht are their strengths and weakness of their batsman are and bowl according to that.

India should field 4 bowlers & 6 batsmen with dhoni.my playing eleven is: sehwag, jaffer, dravid, sachin, ganguly, laxman, dhoni, kumble, zaheer, sreesanth,rp singh
deepak c
2007-11-19 10:49:31 UTC
i think it is better to play 4 bowlers and 5 th bowlers quata can be devided between ganguly, tendulkar, yuvraj & shehwag.

work on the basics... and keep it simple..... Not try anything special.... especially sreesanth is a fine find... He is good bowler ... he has to be told to keep everything simple and work on his outswingers which he is the best... then comes others likes of RP singh and others

2007-11-19 02:11:57 UTC
I think india should use 11 batsmen (5 allrounder ie like pathan, ganguly, praveenkumar,I sharma, zaheer& captain kumble for bowling)
arindam s
2007-11-19 00:39:20 UTC
i think india should go with two specialist spiner. one orthodox right handed spinner and other one a specialist lg spinner. added to these two fast bowler. with right and left combination. and lastly one medium pacer like ganguly. apart from these we should also take a full time all rounder.

winning formula:

Fast bowlers,Fast Bowlers
Munaf Patel,Zaheer,Irfan,Shree,Ajit

You may exclude one batsman as they r of no use anyway to add Harbhajan, though no chance for spinners aprt from Kumble we dont have likes of Murali who did not fire even.

Even if u loose you Fought

For sure play 5 regular bowlers , with 2 regular quality spinners , just like we play in tests , one day attack shd be no different. for quality you require quality for , full 50 overs to contend with.
2007-11-19 21:06:49 UTC
yes INDIA should play with 5 bowlers in final team two facers two seemers and one spinner in final team so that we can use part time spinner if necessary with second spinner

2007-11-19 02:51:09 UTC
i think they should play with 4 phase bowlers and 1spin bowler, remaining partime spin bowler.
2007-11-19 23:02:27 UTC
I think they should play 5 bowlers (spin & pace) but make sure that our bowlers line & length is perfect and avoid giving extras.

Basically we need our players to be mentally strong and have the killer instinct to win matches.

sreesanth and Zaheer with new ball

Irfan and RP singh if they are playing at Gabba

Anil Kumble the only spinner.

On a spinning track( forgot that ground) instead of RP they should play Harbhajan

They just need one good, genuine swing-bowler --- Australia can't play the swinging ball.
JAYshee
2007-11-19 11:22:12 UTC
They should be attacking the aussies give tem a run fr ter money........having closing fielders for spinners and sresanth should be playing (bez i fnd aussies r lil bit jittery against him) thn gv the best hope fr the rest......god bless
2007-11-19 10:10:22 UTC
yeah thats right...

i'll go for

1.bhaji

2.murali karthick*/powar/piyush

*-preffarably

3.irfan pathan

4&5.zaheer,r.p.singh and praveen kumar

irfan is already an all-rounder,so,zaheer is must and its praveen or r.p. bcz his performance as a debutant in the final one-dayer against pak was awesome in the opening spell before his 6th over...he swings the ball good and keeps it in right position...so he can open with zaheer as a left and right combination and we can restrict them in the power plays which was our drawback....in the middle overs we camn have murali, pathan and bhaji and its better that murali ends his spell before 40th over as his balls would be badly treated during slog overs....

lets hope for the best

Get some Fast bowlers from PUNJAB, JHARKHAND or from some other remote placeses with some AGRESSIVE nature & keep them checking
2007-11-18 23:07:39 UTC
Accuracy is the key, basics like stump to stump bowling ,not allowing them to free arms backed by good fielding. It is also important to attack them and using lot of variations so that they do not settle .I think four seamers and one genuine spinner is a must.If spinner proves effective then our part time spinners like sachin etc can also bowl.
shyam kanojia
2007-11-18 23:03:05 UTC
As about australia we (indian) team should play 3 fast and 2 speeners. that would be perfect combination and this will really work for us.

The bowlers should stick to the stumps which frustates the batsman and compel them to make errors.

and other tat i think the whole team must lift ther games...like wat they did last time around......i think pathan he's hell of a bowler now and ever dependable kumble and r.p singh and zaheer kahn...tat will do and tendulkar can support wit ganguly also if needed..and one more thing is they've got to field better...if they field better itself they'l be a diffrnt outfit.......

vengasarkar is playing dirty politics and sdravid batted in five diff positions in five matches and robin batted at no 7 in 4 matches and no 3 in last match

gambir batted at no 3 in 4 matches and opened innings in last match

ganguly batted as opener in all five innigs where as opener he had chace to face more balls so that can build innings slowly without any pressure increasing runrate

dravid five innigns against strong bowling of ausses while ganguly gambir and robin all against the weakest bowling of pakistan only one innings against aussies

ASk tendulkar, ganguly gambir dhoni and sewag to bat at five diff positions in five matches against aussies then u see the differnece in performance and strike rate

they should bat down in order when team in trouble and go up in order when there was pressure of increasing runrate and less balls to face

why same rule which applied for dravid not applicable to other players

Dravid took 10 catches in 5 innings while robin only five and gambire and ganguly only one each

vengi and co played dirty politics to drop dravid from odis why not same yardstick appoies to others dravid was dropped after 4 bad perfomance batting in diff positions in five matches

bjji was wktless in 6 matces till he took 2 for 43 in 4th odi against ausses he never dropped but played full seires against pakistan

zahirkhan performs once in 5-6 matches but he is survived

gnaguly's last five innings 0 39 6 39 with 3 lifes and 5 but he is stilll part of odi team gnaguly is worst fielder and poor in running btn wkt thany any other player

RP singh replaced sresant but proved he is worst than sresant.

dhoni always gets runs in dead pitiches of subcontinent but he was total failure in fast bouncy pitiches of SA and WI

rules never applies to tendulkar

If performance is yardstick to drop players then tendulkar, dhoni, zahir bajji and gnaguly would have out of team long time before..

Vengasarkar told dravid did not inform him after resinging captaincy Even tendulkar declined captaincy offered by vengi. |Even TOI reporeted that vengasarkar tried to persue tendulkar twice

now vengasarkar will take revenge against tendulkar?

the best way to restrict aus...... is our blowers has to fire like every man has to blow the ball at avg speed 145.00 km......

and vary each ball and make the australian under pressure to score runs. Irfan pathan has to blow at 145km + ... Zaheer khan has to blow more bouncers . sreeshanth has to already in fire...he is faster and agressive... should be normal in australia..... because....i will but aus under pressure........
