Sri Lanka:-
No two words about that. This is the most humiliating loss by far for india against SL.

2000 Sarjah trophy final.

It was a complete annihilation and had been the biggest win margin(245) by any team in Odis for a while before Australia defeating Namibia by 256 runs in 2003.

There were 3 matches comes in to my mind which are very humiliating for the Lankans. So have to chose one of them.

A 10 wicket win a clean sweep by india.

Considering that as a world cup match it was an embarrassing loss for SL.

IND 321/3 (36:4) Kholi 133(86)*

India scored 91 runs in the last 6:4 overs where they needed 91 in 10 overs to win with a bonus point.
Yup it was a complete annihilation too.


I’d chose the first one as the most humiliating one considering india completely out played lanka with the ball and the bat there. It’s better than chasing 320 in 36 overs bcz in that match india couldn’t out play Sl with the ball.

Sl bowler:-
Malinga 7:4-0-96-0 in that 320(36) game. It was a world record by Malinga, the most expensive bowler ever.

Indian bowler:-
Venkatesh Prasad 7-0-73-0 in that Sarjah final 2000. Considering that was the same pitch where 2 SL bowlers had these unbelievable figures. Vass 9:3-1-14-5 and Murali 6-3-6-3

For India, definitely the Sharjah one and the second humiliating defeat was that of the last match in this series.



For Sri Lanka, the current match because we are going to win it by 9 wickets within 40 overs. :-)
